The Response and Exploration of China’s Education System to Ecological Civilization

摘要

Education for ecological civilization is crucial for fostering talent in constructing an ecologically advanced society and constitutes a long-term strategy for the nation. This study reviews the evolution of ecological civilization education in China from a temporal perspective, tracing the changes from policy to educational practices. By examining key areas such as secondary schools, universities, communities, and the Olympics, the chapter reveals specific approaches and practical outcomes of ecological civilization education in China. The core experience of China’s ecological civilization education lies in leveraging the service function of the government, clarifying the “bridge role of schools, and mobilizing the potential power of society. These are also important approaches for further deepening the education for ecological civilization for all. The study emphasizes the interconnection between ecological civilization education in schools and in society and calls for attention to the coordinated development of school education and social education.
