摘要
The scanning tunneling microscopy was used to investigate the microstructure of organic films used in the optical recording. It was found that bubbles will appear for phthalocyanine thin films after it is irradiated by a laser in the optical recording. The laser pulses of different energies produce bubbles of various minute structures, and the disc performance is closely correlated with the size of the bubbles. The results also show that the STM is really a powerful tool to investigate the microstructure of the optical disc.
