Stable static zinc-iodine redox battery constructed with graphene quantum dots coated graphite felt

摘要

A highly stable static zinc-iodine redox battery is constructed using graphene quantum dots coated graphite felt which improves stripping of the plated zinc and decreases complexation between zinc and iodine ions due to the smaller oxidizing consistuent on the graphite felt surface. The static zinc-iodine redox battery can be operated at high currents while delivering excellent performance with regard to the discharging capacity, energy, as well as cycling stability. There is a promising commerical prospect in the field of power batteries.
