摘要

Peroxisome proliferators-activated receptors (PPARs) are transcriptional factors belonging to the ligand-activated nuclear receptor superfamily. So far, three major PPAR subtypes have been identified, which are named PPARα(NR1C1), PPARβ/δ (NUC1; NR1C2) and PPARγ(NR1C3), respectively. PPARs play important roles in the regulation of lipid and glucose metabolism, energy homeostasis, blood pressure control, cell proliferation and differentiation. In addition, increasing evidence reveals that PPARs are involved in the regulation of various types of inflammation. In the current paper, the role of PPARβ/δin inflammation and its underlying mechanisms will be briefly reviewed and discussed.
