N2 - The removing of specular highlight spots has been the hotspot in the field of computer vision. A variety of methods have been designed to remove the specular on the surface of the objects. Unfortunately few paper on removal of (specular) highlight spots on the metal surface have been reported. Since the region of highlight spots on metal surface is much larger than that of non-metal, it is harder to remove them. We propose a novel Inpainting with Multi-Sources-Flashing method to resolve the problem. The outcome of the experiments demonstrate that the light-spots on the surface of the metal objects with complex texture are removed effectively, and the physical property of the surface maintains well. The pyramid structure of our algorithm flow makes the innovation function efficiently.
