摘要

Nanostructure carbon films including diamond and carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have been attracting considerable attentions both from scientists and engineers, and related applications in high power light emitting diode (LED) and field emission display (FED) devices are reviewed. Because of the excellent field emission properties, such as high aspect ratio, extremely small diameter, and high emission current, CNTs become a potential candidate as field emitter for FED practical application. A CNT-FED module with current density of 1 mA/cm 2 at 2.8V/μm has been achieved, and large size of 40 inch FED with low cost is demonstrated by using the module. By using high thermal conductive CNT and diamond as the thermal dissipation layer, a novel flat white LED module with efficiency over 100 1m/W has been achieved, and the technology is being transferred to mass production for general illumination application. Finally, a new kind of nitride phosphors for white LED synthesized by simple gas reduction and nitridation route were introduced.
