摘要

A mass transfer study of H2S removal from reformats with microfiber entrapped ZnO/SiO2 sorbent was conducted for fuel cell applications. The microfibers enhanced the external mass transfer, thus improved the sorbents performance in the low concentration H2S removal. ZnO nanosized particulates supported by SiO2 could minimized the intraparticle mass transfer resistance. The regenerated sorbents had steady capacities, which were ∼ 75% of the capacity of fresh ones. From the mass transfer study of glass fiber entrapped ZnO/SiO2 sorbents, the combination of these microfiber media nano-dispersed ZnO on SiO2 had offered a nice solution to the low concentration H2S removal in onsite fuel processor. This is an abstract of a paper presented in the ACS Fuel Chemistry Meeting Fall 2005 (Washington, DC Fall 2005).
