摘要
To support the fast growing cloud computing services and provide a core infrastructure to meet the increasing computing and storage requirements, the number of servers in today's data centers is expanding exponentially, which leads to enormous challenges in designing an efficient and cost-effective data center network. Traditional proposals either suffer from poor reliability, endure performance bottleneck, scale too slowly, or are expensive to construct. Motivated by these challenges, this paper presents the design, analysis, and implementation of JieLin, a novel server- centric network architecture that has many desirable features for data center networking. Besides the excellent scalability and good fault tolerance, JieLin also achieves high performance in bisection bandwidth, average path length, aggregate bottleneck throughput, and cost-effectiveness. Moreover, in order to maximize the theoretical performance of JieLin a congestion- aware fault-tolerant adaptive routing algorithm has been specially designed. In addition to theoretical analysis, extensive simulations are conducted to further prove the feasibility and good performance of JieLin.
