摘要

A novel image preprocessing scheme was proposed. First, the importance map (IM) of the image is created based on face detection. With this importance map, several effective image preprocessing schemes are introduced, one of which PQIC is independent of the image coding algorithm. That is easy to integrate it into the existing image compression systems.
