摘要

To fulfill the large spectrum requirements in the 5th-Generation (5G) systems. The Third-Generation Partnership Project has defined licensed assisted access (LAA) to extend its spectrum pool to unlicensed band. However, for these operators without licensed spectrum (eg, virtual operators), stand-alone Long-Term Evolution (LTE) in unlicensed band may be a more appealing choice since LAA is only suitable to these operators who have their licensed spectrum. Similar to LAA, fair coexistence between stand-alone LTE system and other systems (eg, Wireless Fidelity [WiFi]) in unlicensed spectrum is also the dominated problem that should be solved. In this paper, 1 approach on stand-alone LTE system in unlicensed spectrum is proposed. The proposed solution is based on adaptive power and bandwidth adjustment to guarantee the fair coexistence between stand-alone LTE system and WiFi. The coexistence evaluation results between them indicate that the proposed one can improve the whole system throughput significantly and meanwhile the performance of WiFi is also guaranteed.
