Environmental effects of riparian land use change of urban river: A case study of suzhou creek in Shanghai

摘要

On the basis of expatiating definition, structure and function of riparian zone of urban river and the environmental effects of riparian land use change,the paper takes the Suzhou Creek in Shanghai as the research object.The paper uses the land utilization interpretation,organic pollution index and field survey scoring methods to deal with data. The paper makes a correlated comparative study between riparian land use on the scales of river and reaches, and river water quality and landscape suitability of investigated section, and combined with the different historical periods and current background of Shanghai further reveals the natural and social environmental effects which were brought by riparian land use change. The adaptive management strategy of riparian zone of urban river were proposed. The study results indicate that: (1) The reduction of industrial sites and agricultural land, the increase of living space, roads and urban green land, and the weekly decrease of impervious area are the mean features of riparian land-use of Suzhou Creek. (2) The change trend of industrial land, living space and urban green space is the most prominent, which has a closer relationship with the change trend of organic pollution index. (3) Type of land use and impervious area in different sections has the great relevance with the landscape suitability of coiresponding sections.
