Compressive sensing based FPGA+Zig Bee implementation for energy-efficient wireless transmission of acoustic signal

摘要

Wireless links provides great convenience in node deployment. But its limited bandwidth brings challenge for large volume transmission tasks. Compressive sensing (CS) is a promising solution for this problem. In this paper, we present a CS based wireless sensor network framework for acoustic signal acquisition, which can significantly reduce acoustic signal data volume without affecting its quality. The framework consists of Transmitter, Receiver and Terminal, all combined to complete tasks including signal receiving, compressive sampling, wireless sending and receiving, and signal recovery. A experimental testbed is implemented using FPGA and Zig Bee chips. The results show that these signals can be well recovered with negligible norm error. It also indicates that using this framework can significantly reduce the total volume of signal acquisition.
