Arsenic biotransformation by model organism Cyanobacterium Synechocystis sp. PCC6803

摘要

Arsenic speciation determines its mobility and toxicity. Speciation changes are largely driven by biological actions, such as microbes and plants. This paper is a summary based on our studies using cyanobacterium Synechocystis sp. PCC6803 as a model organism for the elucidation of molecular mechanisms of arsenic biotransformation. While it serves as a mini-review, we will also discuss new unpublished results, including the molecular mechanism of arsenosugar biosynthesis.
