Amplitude and Phase Decoupled Metasurface for Low Side-Lobe Circularly Polarized Transmitarray Antenna Design

摘要

This paper proposes a transmissive metasurface with decoupled amplitude and phase for circularly polarized (CP) incident waves. The cross-polarized transmission amplitude and phase are independently controlled by different structural parameters. Then, a transmitarray antenna with a low side-lobe level (SLL) based on the proposed metasurface is demonstrated. Compared to transmitarray antenna with phase-only modulation, the SLL of the proposed transmitarray antenna with simultaneous amplitude and phase modulation is reduced by 5.1 dB, which validates the proposed design methodology.
