摘要

In this paper, we study the adjoint linear system |K_S + L| on a complex surface S of general type. For a nef divisor L on S, we give a numerical criterion for φK_S+L to be generically finite. A question of Chen and Viehweg [Bicanonical and adjoint linear system on surface of general type, Pacific J. Math. 219 (2005) 83-95] is studied and we give some partial evidence for this question to be true.
