摘要

To study the cycles and budgets of nitrogen in the Yellow Sea, a three-dimensional coupled biophysical model (ECSECOM) was established to simulate the cycles and budgets of dissolved inorganic nitrogen (DIN) and particulate organic nitrogen (PON) in the Yellow Sea and to analyze the spatial distributions and seasonal variations of sources and sinks of DIN and PON. The DIN concentration decreased through spring and summer and reached the high value in autumn and winter. The concentration of PON was low in winter and spring, and increased in summer and autumn. Regarding the budgets of DIN, primary production and respiration of phytoplankton were the most important sink and source of DIN. The remineralization of the detritus pool compensated 29.47% of the consumption of DIN by the primary production process, while external input of DIN accounted for 14.60%. The major source of PON was the mortality release of phytoplankton. The exchange of sediment-water interface of PON showed a net sedimentation. The input of DIN from atmospheric deposition to the Yellow Sea was comprehensive, and the area affected by the bottom interface release and river loading were regional. The transformation rate between DIN and PON was also calculated. There were 48.50% of PON converting to DIN, the most of the rest PON deposited to the sediment. The transformation rate from DIN to PON was 38.85%.
