Abstract
Different storage methods of different XML document types have been proposed. There are basically two types of XML documents, which are summarized as "document-centric and "data-centric". Mostly native XML database is suit for "document-centric" XML document and XML enabled database fits the others. This paper introduces designs for NXD and XED, and compares the different performance between them. A concept model of hybrid XML database has been put forward, and the feasibility and simple implementation is also mentioned in this paper. A deeper discuss about automatically choosing the storage strategy for different types XML documents is also included in the later part of this paper.
