Abstract

New multi-chromophoric perylene 3, 4, 9, 10- tetracarboxylic dianhydride dyes, which have four substituents in the bay-region of the core besides N, N′-substiments, for solar cell sensitizer have been investigated. A wide spectral photoresponse on SnO2 in visible region was observed with maximum IPCE of 24%. In addition, the wide sensitization on SnO2 by cyanine dyes alone (maximum IPCE of 46%) and combination-sensitized with RuL2(SCN)2 (maximum IPCE of 68%) in NIR region were also observed.
