Vacuum laser acceleration by an ultrashort, high-intensity laser pulse with a sharp rising edge

Abstract

A laser vacuum electron acceleration method is proposed. By using a one-dimensional model, it was found out that an ultrashort, high-intensity, plane-wave laser pulse with a sharp rising edge can be used to accelerate electrons to relativistic energy in vacuum.
