Abstract
Raman interaction between the vibrational states of center-of-mass motion of a single trapped particle is investigated in co-propagating travelling-wave light fields for localization conditions in or beyond Lamb-Dicke limit. The two-photon excitations can be used to prepare coherent vibrational states of motion.
