Abstract
Municipal wastewater treatment using diatomaceous earth bio-reactor was studied. The active biomass grew on the surface of composite refined diatomaceous earth carriers. The effect of hydraulic retention time on municipal wastewater treatment was investigated in lab-scale continuous-flow experiments. All effluent indexes except total N concentrations fit well with A grade of the first level in Discharge Standard of Pollutants for Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant (GB 18918-2002).
