Abstract
Recently, the peer-to-peer (P2P) based 3D scenes streaming has been a powerful tool to realize interactive downloading of large-scale virtual environments. In this paper, we introduce the design of a P2P based distributed virtual environments (DVE) with two layers, give the general steps for scenes streaming. To relieve the "prisoner's dilemma" which exists in P2P scenes exchange, we propose a titfor-tat based solution, in which each peer computes every requester's contribution on transmission ofscenes firstly, and then downloading requests from those peers who provide more contribution will be processed with higher priorities. Simulation results show that our method improve the visual quality in walkthrough (shown by the fill ratio, fill ratio of base mesh and the base latency).
