Abstract

The principle of free-electron lasing without inversion was analysed theoretically from the energy and momentum conservation and a new type of free-electron laser without inversion was designed. Two deflect mirrors were proposed to be arranged, because the electrons of photon emission interfere constructively, a new design having twice the gain of Krizki's one was given in the paper. In an ideal case, the gain of the new design is 80 times larger than that of the conventional free-electron laser and it is nearly the theoretical limitation.
