Abstract

As terminal reach of Yellow River has changed greatly for 10 times since 1855, the modern Yellow River Delta has been formed. From 1965 to 1976, terminal reach Is Diaokou Channel, mass unconsolidated deposit was produced on front slope of northern Yellow River Delta. After terminal reach's shifting to Qingshuigou in 1976, the seashore was eroded and the coastal line moved back rapidly. This threatened normal production of Shengli Oil Field which is the second largest oil field In China. It is the base of carrying out coastal protection engineering efficaciously to grasp the profile shaping process and law of evolution. Since 1970s, 8 profiles have been observed in the Northern Yellow River delta coast. In order to get rid of dynamic change because of recession, drawback distance is considered to be the metadata for analyze. Time and space shaping characteristic is discussed. The Quasi-equilibrium zone is existent in silt coast profile, and float by dynamic condition.
