Abstract

The role of atomic level structure in the two-color field driven high order harmonic generation in atoms was investigated. The efficiency of harmonic generation was increased by more than four orders of magnitude by employing color laser field. It was found that the recombination probability by reducing the necessary laser intensity can be increased by adding a nearly-resonant high-frequency field.
