Abstract

Heart sound stethoscope is one of the effective ways to assess the cardiovascular diseases. In this paper, an electronic stethoscope, which is based on embedded processors and Bluetooth transmission, is designed to fulfill the shortages from the auscultation. The portable device can play heart sound in real-time with or without earphone after signal collection, signal preprocessing and power amplification. At the same time the embedded processor samples the signal and outputs to LCD. In addition, the data can be transmitted to the PC through Bluetooth or serial port in order to display PCG or store data for computer-aided diagnosis.
