Abstract

Some results on the preparation and the properties of ferroelectric thin films for uncooled infrared detection in our group are presented. Several novel technologies have been developed to control the microstructures, e.g., grain size, grain shape, and the texture of Ba1-xSrxTiO 3(BST), PbZrxTi1-xO3 (PZT) thin films. The preparation of 0.7Pb. (Mg1/3Nb2/3)O 3-0.3PbTiO3 (PMNT) relaxor films with highly self-polarization, a novel readout mode with infrared-visible transition mechanism, and the preparation of PZT thin films at low temperature (400 °C) are presented and discussed. The preparation of 256×1 pixels uncooled infrared detector as well as some infrared thermal images is also reported.
