abstract = "In this paper, the synthesis problem of plane wave applied to 5G communication measurement is studied by means of theoretical analysis and computer simulation. A plane wave generator (PWG) working at 28 GHz is designed to realize the near-field antenna measurement. The PWG consists of 21 ×21 units, whose amplitude and phase are figured out by using the least squares method (LSM). The numerical simulation results indicate that the high-purity plane wave is synthesized in the quiet zone with 20?×20?×7?. The frequency bandwidth is 12 GHz covering the communication system band of 5G. The max amplitude error is less than 1 dB and the max phase error is less than 10? on the area under test (AUT), meeting the antenna measurement requirements.",
