Abstract
The synthesis of MCM-48 at a surfactant/silicon ratio of 0.10 is discussed and the effect of the ratio on physical properties of MCM-48 materials is analyzed. The XRD diffractograms show that MCM-48 materials with satisfactory structural order can be synthesized under the low surfactant/silicon ratio condition. An increase in the ratio decreases the driving force for the phase transformation from tubular mesophase to cubic mesophase.
