Abstract

Macroporous TiO2 with mesocellular foam structure was prepared using eggshell membrane as a single template. The as-synthesized catalyst was characterized by N2 adsorptiondesorption analysis, X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis. The results indicate that hierarchical porous structure exists in the assynthesized TiO 2 membrane. The mesocellular foam is composed of cell with diameter of about 20 nm and smaller window with diameter of 9 nm. It has been found that the macroporous structure of TiO2 obtained from eggshell membrane plays an important role in the photocatalytic performance.
