Abstract

The preparation of pure ZnO films and PbS/ZnO films with sol-gel method was discussed. The ZnO/PbS films were found to have linear optical quality, with an increased refractivity and absorption in the UV-Vis region. By using Z-scan method the optical nonlinearity at 532 nm for the nanocomposite with a high Pb/Zn molar ratio was measured. The optical nonlinearity at 532 nm showed saturable absorption and a high negative nonlinear refractivity of 10 -7 esu.
