N2 - With the tremendous advances in mobile computing and communication capabilities, rapid proliferation of mobile devices, increasing powerful functions, and decreasing device costs, we are seeing a explosively growth in mobile e-commerce in various consumer and business markets. Although a large volume of literature is available on mobile e-commerce, a lot of aspects of this topic still remain to be made better and further studied. On the basis of analyzing advantages and disadvantages of traditional mobile e-commerce systems and applications, the paper put forward a novel concept of Location Based Services (LBS) driven mobile e-commerce system, and also resource limitations of mobile e-commerce clients (e.g., PDAs and PocketPCs), the related requirements and key issues are investigated accordingly. Then workflow and technological architecture of the LBS driven mobile e-commerce system are given and also main functions of the nodes in the framework are discussed at length. At last, system development environment and some implemented general functions are presented.
