Abstract
A high key creation efficiency was achieved by using three cascaded Mach-Zehnder interferometers, in a stable differential phase shift (DPS) quantum key distribution (QKD) system. The interferometers were combined with Faraday mirror, which possessed a key creation rate of 3/4. The pulse was split into four sequential pulses. The faraday mirror compensated the birefringence effects and polarization-dependent losses in the long-distance fiber. The combination of interferometers and faraday mirror increased the stability along with the key creation efficiency of the DPS QKD system.
