Abstract
Ti(IV) was grafted onto the frameworks of MCM-41 material by solution grafting reaction scheme. The product was extensively characterized by XRD, TEM, EDS, and N2 adsorption-desorption isotherms as well as FTIR and 29Si MAS NMR methods. Three mechanisms of the solution grafting reaction were put forward. Experimental results show that the Si-OH groups react with Ti(OBu)4 and form Si-O-Ti bands, which are marked by the strong absorption at 950-960 cm-1 in IR spectra.
