Abstract

The single-photon-added coherent state (SPACS), as a novel non-classical state, was realized recently by Zavatta et al. [Science 306 (2004) 660]. Here a simple scheme is demonstrated to further enhance the success probability of their SPACS generation. This method also can be used to generate the hybrid-variable entangled SPACS (ESPACS) which may be useful in quantum information science.
