Abstract
A method for calculation of relay regions of wireless non-regenerative relaying networks is proposed by introducing relay gain and constraint parameters. The method defines relay gain by asymptotical symbol error rate expressions, and derives the analytical expressions and the corresponding geometrical solutions of the relay regions and their subsets using the relay gain and a path loss model. In consideration of the restrictions imposed by some practical constraints, e.g., desired network coverage and antenna configuration on relay regions and their subsets, a further analysis of the networking significance of the geometric solutions is given. The numerical and simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method can be applied to non-regenerative relaying networks with various constraint parameters.
