Abstract
Sr Bi1.65 La0.35 Nb2 O9 ceramics were prepared by a conventional solid-state reaction method. X-ray diffraction analysis indicated that single phase layered perovskites were obtained. Dielectric response of Sr Bi1.65 La0.35 Nb2 O9 was found to be characteristic of relaxor ferroelectrics. The dielectric relaxation of Sr Bi1.65 La0.35 Nb2 O9 was modeled using the Vögel-Fulcher relationship [D. Viehland, J. Appl. Phys. 68, 2916 (1990)], and this result suggests that Sr Bi1.65 La0.35 Nb2 O9 is analogous to a spin glass with thermally activated polarization fluctuations above a static freezing temperature.
