Abstract

The relaxation time T of the electrons in the conduction band of n-Hg1-xCdxTe was obtained by analyzing the line-shapes of the cyclotron resonance at 1.8K in the Faraday configuration in the far-infrared spectrum range. A comparison between the experimental results and the theoretical ones from the ionized impurity scattering in the magneto-quantum-limit was made also. The dependence of relaxation time on the magnetic field was explained in terms of both the inter-Landau-level scattering and the intra-Landau-level scattering.
