Abstract
Based on undetermined coefficient method, a way is proposed for reconstructing G2 transition curve for two separated planar circular arcs. The transition curve is reconstructed by using a pair of cubic Bézier spirals and can be gotten by solving a quadratic equation which simplifies the computation procedure, however traditional methods require solving numerical process. In our method, the ratio of the two circular arcs has no restriction so that the application field is extended. Experimental results show that the proposed method is effective.
