Abstract

This presentation discusses catalytic materials which may bring important improvement or technical breakthrough to the petroleum refining technology for producing reformulated gasoline and low sulfur and aromatics diesel fuel. The major improvements may be achieved using of modified beta zeolite for enhancing the selectivity of the C4 fraction, high silica Y zeolite with low hydrogen transfer ability. To produce low sulfur and aromatics diesel fuel, the next generation of HDS, HDN, and HDA catalysts may emerge from the research of high surface binary metallic nitrides or amorphous nickel alloys.
