Abstract

The spectral imaging technique was resulted from multispectral remote sensing in 1970s, which has successful applications in geology, agriculture, vegetation, environment, city, military, hydrology, and atmosphere. The potential applications of spectral imaging in the researching and clinical fields of biomedicine were dug in recent years. Recent progresses in the medical spectral imaging technique were reviewed. According to resolution, working model of detector and dispersive element, it was classified and introduced respectively. General situation and outlook on applications in cytogenics, immunofluorescence, histochemistry, and pathology of this new technique was also discussed. Furthermore, some comments were made about the latest trend and problems need to be solved of the medical spectral imaging technique.
