Abstract
A series of aminoalkylnaphthalimides were synthesized in order to develop novel DNA cleavers. Agarose gel electrophoresis showed supercoiled plasmid DNA with various sizes could be efficiently cleaved in the presence of 100 μmol/L of aminoalkylnaphthalimides at 70°C, pH 7.5. Interestingly, all of cleaved products are close to half-sized DNA fragments in a linear form.
