Abstract

Dynamic mirages are very beautiful nature phenomena, which are caused by, the atmospheric refraction and total internal reflection in some special conditions. In this paper, through analyzing the physical formation theory of different types of mirages, the authors establish the corresponding models of atmospheric temperature change. Then a dynamic model based on the atmospheric gravity waves is introduced to simulate the dynamic change of mirage. Considering the effect of environment, the whole scene of mirage is realistically rendered. Finally, the different types of dynamic mirages under different conditions, including mirages on ocean surface, in desert, and on concrete road, are realistically rendered, including dynamic change of mirages.
