Abstract

A series of Al/(organic compound + ZnO)/Al cells have been prepared. The organic compounds used in the cells were 4-amino derivatives of 1,8-naphthalimides and 7H-benzimidazo[2,1-a]benz[d,e]isoquinolin-7-ones. The sensitivity of these compounds has been studied, and the photoelectric spectral responses of the semiconductor ZnO under the sensitization of these compounds have been recorded. The possibility of using these compounds for sensitizing materials in photoconductive copy sheets and solar cells has also been discussed.
