Abstract
The transfer of the optical modulation features from a sufficiently intense amplitude modulated laser to nonmodulated one using a Raman generator was investigated. It was stated that the modulation features can be transferred from a lower intensity field to a higher intensity one. Numerical simulations showed that modulation transfers between the driving lasers, can be realized in gaseous Raman media, providing an efficient way to extend the optical modulation range beyond the transparent ranges of commercial modulators. The technique is found to be efficient in overcoming the intrinsic limitation of commercial modulators.
