Abstract

The coastal area is usually influenced by typhoons every year. So it is necessary to consider the disaster prevention when we study the ocean hydrodynamic. In this paper, a coupled model COHERENS - SWAN is adopted to simulate current distribution under waves, tides, and typhoon. The new model can calculate waves and tidal currents simultaneously and exchange results data at selected time intervals. The results are more reasonable than when typhoon conditions are not included.
