Abstract

The novel porous 3D metal-organic framework synthesized from fluorenone-2,7-dicarboxylate contains zinc-glycolate-carboxylate layers in which the unique hexagonal prismatic [Zn₆(OCH₂CH ₂O)₆] clusters are connected by planar [Zn ₃(OCH₂CH₂O)(COO)₂] motifs; the pore surface is furnished with carbonyl groups and open metal sites.
