Abstract
A scheine for the generation of a nonclassical Bose-Einstein condensate is proposed in a Jg =: 1 → Je = 0 system wheie ultracold atoms are populated in one ground-state sublevel g_) and form a Bose-Einstein condensate. coupJiiig the condeiisate to copropagating classica.1 (s-) and quantum (s+) non-resonant tra.velUng-w&ve l&ser üelds, elFective two-photon excit&tions between two giound-state sublevels p_) and g+) create a new condensate-in For an appropriate selection of the inteiaction time and atom-ßeld coupling strengthsf the qu&ntum features of the quantized laser ßeldy which ma.y be prepared in a ceitain nonclassical state, can be exchanged with those of the quaiitiun density üeZd of the geuerated condensate.
