Abstract

LaNi1-xCoxO3 (x=0, 0.1, 0.3, 0.7, 1.0) perovskite catalysts were prepared by co-precipitation method and investigated in the catalytic oxidation of NO. LaNi0.7Co0.3O3 showed the best catalytic activity among all the samples, confirming the potential of LaNi0.7Co0.3O3 as a cheap and efficient NO oxidation catalyst. The high reactivity of LaNi0.7Co0.3O3 was mainly due to the moderate amount of adsorbed NO and O2 and their moderate adsorption strength on the surface of the catalyst, as determined by the XRD, H2-TPR, NO-TPD, O2-TPD and XPS studies.
