Abstract

Novel monomers are reported that are derived from norbornene functionalized with oligoethyleneoxy groups that carry imidazolium salts. These monomers were polymerized via ruthenium-catalyzed ring-opening metathesis polymerization in a variety of solvents, including ionic liquids, at different temperatures to give novel low Tg polymers. These polymers are expected to act as new polymer electrolytes.
